SIMDAT Success Stories

Since it's launch in 2004 SIMDAT has successfully installed Grids in various industrial prototypes in the aerospace, automotive, pharmacology and meteorology sectors. The results achieved in the four application activities feed into the SIMDAT Success Stories.

The first SIMDAT success story is based on the achievements of the Meteorological Activity: Answering the call of the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) for a single coordinated global infrastructure which offers a virtual and consistent view of the vast amount for data distributed geographically the SIMDAT Meteo partners worked jointly on the initial development of the concept of a Virtual Global Information System for Discovery and Exchange of Environmental Data (VGISC). ...read more...
