Analysis service for MD Nastran™ as reference implementation

Description
MD Nastran™ is a finite element simulation program in broad use in the automotive, aerospace and manufacturing industries. It is a typical batch oriented program that is usually called from scripts or direct from the command line. The functionality of MD Nastran™ has been wrapped as an Analysis Service to utilize the following actions:

• upload one or more input files to the service provider (input staging)
• start MD Nastran with optional parameters monitor the job status
• download the resulting output files
• rom output stager

Contribution to SIMDAT
MD Nastran™ has been wrapped and deployed in the GRIA framework. Its main contribution the service has shown in an automotive prototype, which has demonstrated how a workflow can be executed over a multi-CPU computer cluster, using Analysis Services as the building blocks.
