LMS is part of the automotive activity. LMS will integrate its LSM.Tec.Manager and LMS.VirtualLab software platforms into the SIMDAT AutoMotive Demonstrator (SAMD) using SIMDAT standards and services. Through its subcontracting partner Noesis, LMS will also research, develop and extend the functionality of Noesis' OPTIMUS Process Integration and Design Optimization as a Workflow flow engine utilizing the SIMDAT Standards and Services in the areas of Webservices and Grid Computing capabilities. In the second phase of the project the extended OPTIMUS will then be deployed as a Knowledge Engine.

The core business activity of LMS is the development and marketing of systems, software products and engineering services, for mechanical design engineering, related to functional performance optimization. The key addressed attributes are acoustics, vibrations, durability (fatigue life) and motion. LMS develops software for numerical simulation (virtual prototype engineering) as well as for the experimental analysis of physical prototypes. Linking test-data with simulation models is one of LMS’ key competencies. Main market segments for LMS are the vehicle and aerospace industries, next to consumer products, household equipment, energy production, etc. LMS has a unique world-wide market position, strengthened through its own international sales and support network.
